Nick Barstow is a musical director, arranger, composer and vocalist. He recently toured the UK with Frank Wildhorn's Wonderland, starring Kerry Ellis, Wendi Peters and Dave Willets, and is currently working with BBC Children In Need on a brand new musical. Recently he was musical director on the London premiere of Miller and Tysen’s Burnt Part Boys at the Park Theatre (for which he is nominated for an Off-West-End award for Best Musical Director), composed the incidental music for a new production of Comedy Of Errors on tour and at the play’s first ever home Gray’s Inn Hall, debuted his solo show with West End friends at the Pheasantry and is soon to feature alongside Gareth Malone for a forthcoming BBC TV series. As an arranger and orchestrator his work has been performed around the world, recently at West End Miscast, The English Theatre of Tel Aviv and the Royal Festival Hall under the baton of comedian and Maestro winner Sue Perkins. This Christmas sees the premiere of his new version of A Christmas Carol produced by Peter Brook Equity Ensemble award winners Antic Disposition.
Nick's musical theatre songs have been showcased numerous times at the Other Palace Studio (then St James Studio) as well as the Tristan Bates and Pheasantry. Nick wrote short musical Tobias Bentley's World Tour with Sophia Chapadjiev in 2015 as a reaction to in-house production Around The World In 80 Days as part of St James Re;Act. Nick received an MA in Composition from the University of London in 2014.
Nick is also co-founder and MD of successful vocal group AfterParty. Recently the group have performed at the St James Theatre, Aldwych Theatre, Arts Theatre, Dominion Theatre, The View From The Shard and King’s Place as well as for numerous high profile events nationwide including the Covent Garden Christmas Lights Switch On 2015 and Sport Relief 2016. Their debut album Hotel Lobby was released in September 2016
